Seacam Polecam Components

In order to clarify what constitutes a polecam set-up with remote monitor, I have outlined the various components below:

Here are the various line items for a set-up like this:

Seacam Remote Monitor for Polecam

You will need a Nikon or Canon remote cord that plugs into the camera and mates with the S6 remote socket that goes into housing, located on left side of housing near lower part of handle. We can provide. Here are additional bits needed and pricing can be found at [url_base]/wp-content/uploads/seacam-pricing-remote.pdf

  1. E-EYE VIEWFINDER (INCLUDES CABLE)
  2. SHUTTER CABLE 1M
  3. E-EYE MONITOR

I recommend a second battery, but it is certainly not necessary for most shooters:

Probably also will want:

  1. 3/8″ ball adapter for bottom of housing (spare)
  2. Ball adapter M8 for top of housing

That takes care of the remote module, now all that is left is the polecam. This below was my first trials with it and I had way too much cord. You’d want that much cord to use underwater with remote monitor, but a smaller cord that doesn’t dangle in front of a rowdy shark is better for polecam work. Also, you can’t really shoot verticals with it like this, so I asked Harald Hordosch of Seacam to create a handle with a ball attached for the left side of the housing. That is an optional item but I highly recommend because the center of gravity with ball at top or bottom of housing is ponderous when shooting verticals. The vertical blue handle holding monitor in photo below is a custom piece I installed for my own polecam, and is not a standard Seacam accessory.
